Montreal, November 8, 2004 -- For the second consecutive year Montreal lifestylist Adam Quang has helped Carolyn Weaver, host of the literary chat show Fine Print on Rogers Television, become the buzz of The Giller Prize book awards show.
The move follows the highly successful 10th Anniversary Awards Gala in 2003, for which Quang served as Weaver’s image advisor. He custom-designed just for her what came to be known among the media and industry insiders as the “Killer Giller” dress.
The dress generated so much interest last year that an Ottawa Citizen reader, Douglas Cornish, wrote to complain that it received more coverage than the awards (“Live from the Gillers”, Citizen’s Weekly Reading, November 9, 2003).
This year Quang and Weaver are upping the ante and the excitement. The sketch of the outfit for the 2004 Giller Prize awards show appeared on the front page of the October 28, 2004 National Post’s Arts and Life section. Accompanying text by Vanessa Farquharson heightened interest in this year’s creation, helping create quite a stir among the well-read and distinguished personages of Canada’s literary world.
